What are bulk and block deals?
Large trades by big investors, disclosed to the exchange. They offer a peek at what the big money is doing.
A bulk deal is a trade where the total quantity bought or sold is more than a set percentage of a company's shares in a single day. Block deals are large, pre-negotiated trades executed in a special window. Both must be disclosed to the exchange.
Why watch them
Because they reveal what large, informed investors are doing. A well-known fund building a stake can be a signal, though it is never a reason on its own to buy or sell. MarketByte lists recent deals on each company page.
